Competition won ! Multimodal exchange hub of Glaisins in Annecy, France

Beyond the transformation of the Parc des Glaisins, the PEM is part of a territorial project that rethinks the role of cars in the city, in connection with individual bicycle transport and public transportation, through the development of a dedicated site.

The construction system emphasizes the transparency of the structure in its lower part to maintain the visibility of built or natural horizons. The planters, integrated into the façade and densely planted, anchor the project in its landscape, allowing it to change with the shifting light and seasons.

This building offers a mix of uses by incorporating two additional floors of offices at its top. This mix allows the structure to be relevant over time, enabling it to evolve and meet the needs of the community.

The project is developed using bio-sourced materials, notably wood and decarbonized concrete. Water management and photovoltaic electricity production also contribute to this commitment to sustainable development.

Thus, the building demonstrates coherence between urban concerns regarding the role of cars, the importance of public transportation, bicycle usage, and an architecture that is welcoming and open to the transformation of uses !
