Metro ! Le Grand Paris en mouvement exhibition
11.23 / Exposition
The Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine and the Société du Grand Paris are presenting a unique exhibition dedicated to the metro, its history and the urban transformations linked to it. On this occasion, two projects of the office are presented: the Pleyel Bridge in Saint-Denis and the Viaduct and aerial station « Coteaux-Beauclair » in Rosny-Bois-Perrier, part of the extension of the metro line 11. Marc Mimram Architecture et Ingénierie sees an understanding of the social, cultural and geographical context as fundamental to any intervention and adopts a positive view of all existing situations, valuing evolution over transformation.
We take a positive look on the infrastructure. Beyond usage, it is an appropriated and shared space which can always be enhanced. As architects-engineers, we always give priority to the capacities that an infrastructure must go beyond its functional characteristics to constitute public realm offered for sharing:
-In Saint-Denis, a public space composed of sequences characterized by inhabited structures.
-In Rosny-Bois-Perrier, a public space under a protective roof. The viaduct assembles, unifies the paths.
