LABELING OF THE ULIS SWIMMING POOL AS A REMARKABLE CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE
In 2007, we opened the doors to the new aquatic facility in Ulis. This project, located at the entrance of the park around which the new town has developed, stands as a pavilion amidst the vegetation. On the side of the public walkways, two distinct volumes with specific functions adjoin the hall, each identified by a specific envelope: stone for the administration and wood for the changing rooms. This facility is dedicated to the pleasures of swimming and sports.
The roof is a strong expression of Marc Mimram Architecture & Engineering's desire to integrate the structure into the building's identity and its functional qualities: clarity and generosity of the spaces dedicated to sporting activities. Here, the mixed wood-steel frame is anchored in the solarium and crosses over the hall, revealing the interplay between the exterior and interior, as accounted for by the very open facades facing the garden.
With great pride, we announce that the Ulis Aquatic Center has today been awarded the label "Remarkable Contemporary Architecture" by the DRAC Île-de-France.
