The Célé river is the matrix of Figeac, its geographical crucible. This footbridge fits perfectly into the geography of the Celé river, and extends the constructive tradition of masonry bridges to reinterpret it, in a contemporary way, by establishing lightness and transparency at the heart of its structure.
Thanks to its double arches treated with lightness and transparency, the footbridge aims to respect a domestic scale, that of the Celé, and of the garden which runs alongside it. The prowess here is not in the span, but in the friendliness towards the place, in the recognition of its geography.
Through this attachment to the constructive refinement of the footbridge, the public space offered to everybody is given special attention, a sense of civility. This footbridge was created from the reading of the site to belong to Figeac and be a lasting part of its future heritage.
