As part of the “La Défense Renewal Plan”, the Bouvets footbridge is an opportunity to create a high-quality pedestrian link between the esplanade, the towers of the Valmy district and the housing districts of Nanterre and Puteaux to the south of the site. The objective was to create a new entrance to the west of La Défense.

The footbridge, with a total span of 49.64 m, connects the Valmy slab to the terrace of the “Basalte” building, which houses the trading floor of Société Générale, by crossing the Boulevard des Bouvets.

The project includes a deck with a constant total width of 3.86 m, for a traffic width of 3.20 m. The deck consists of a main box girder and an edge girder connected by transverse elements.
