The metal sheeting produced, shaped, and bent in a double curve closely follows the static scheme. Through the variation in inertia, the structure reflects in its form the distribution of the moments of flexion of an arch embedded at both ends in the abutment of the structure. The steel sheets were cut with an automated oxy-fuel cutter following the outline of shaped templates created by a complex digital tool making it possible to assemble non-developable surfaces.

The link between shipbuilding and the metal construction of this light structure, making it possible to have continuous steel surfaces rather than metal struts often developed as a framework, is indicative of the extent to which the building site informs the project that, starting from the schematic diagram, shapes the metal until it takes on its delicate form created by the gentle undulations of the curved surfaces.

The name of the footbridge evokes the leaf of the willow trees that grow on the lake edges; the locals see its form reflected in the shape of the bridge.
