The highways intersect as you approach the town of Teda. We chose to reflect and amplify this four-fold encounter in a way that is extensively and broadly lodged in the topography. Here large folded sheets of prefabricated concrete are systematically assembled to form triple-hinged arches. The folds, the variations of inertia, and the connection with the deck all vary not only longitudinally along the path of the forces, but also perpendicularly along the motorists’approach. The forming of this complex structure was made possible by the confluence of an advanced technology and a workforce capable of handling a long and complex execution.
